I figured it could be fixed but when they got up to 12 grand I figured it was doomed. The frame rails were bent about 4 " over!

I feel your pain

I had the same problem when my wife had an accedent, it worked out for the best cause we lost a 60,000 mile fit and got a 16,000 mile fit sport.

Good luck and think positive,
Kevin.

I was lucky, first to survive but second, they gave me 17k for my 08 and I bought a brand new 09 a week later. All I'm really out is a years worth of payments but I loved that car and would be just as happy if nothing would have happened that day and I was still driving my old 2008 Fit

Thanks T.C., no one was injured, but I can close my eyes and still remember the whole thing like it was yesterday, guess they call that a flashback.

Oh, T.C. talk about driving in DFW being bad, you should experience driving in San Juan, PR ! i lived there a year and had a Civic and you could drive as crazy as you wanted to. Passing people on the shoulder, in the grass! It was crazy ! me and a buddy with a Jetta used to race home on the freeway and come up to toll booths at 130 MPH, It was insane but everyone else in PR drove that way.

I have quite a bit of experience with flash backs.... The people here in this county are as bad or worse than he drivers where you are but there are not near as many of them.... Believe it or not the kind of accident that you had is very common here.... If I hadn't spent many years riding motorcycles and driving in North Dallas and the Mid Cities area and surviving that I wouldn't have developed the hypersensitivity needed to avoid the idiots out there.... I still do all right in D/FW driving as long as I am not in the areas that have been populated in the last 21 years.

Glad to see that you were OK and sorry to hear that the Fit did not make it! Hope you enjoy your new ride and hope that you can keep 4 Runners from the new one.

Operating a motor vehicle in the Metroplex is like being at a shooting gallery, where instead of giving you bullets, they give you a car!
