temp gauge

I just remembered from my test drive and pictures on the brochure that the fit sport doesn't have a water temp gauge. did i miss something? is there at least an overheating warning light?

TIA

There is an indicator light. Blue when cold, off when "normal", red when beginning to overheat, and flashing red, when your oats are toasting.

I actually prefer the lights. I never look at my guage because it never moves. At least the light would get my attention. It is much better than a single light as there is also a blue light for when the engine is cool.

I actually like the indicator light more than gauge... Makes the gauge cluster cleaner looking

The process engineer in me say's "never enough instrumentation" but reality is, it'll still over heat whether you watched the ordeal escilate or not.
Does anyone know at what temp it lights?
An oil temp gauge would be better.

Yes an oil temp would be better. Water just goes up to one temp and stays after a few minutes.

When I had an oil temp guage it would take 15 to 20 miles of driving before in stabalized, and it topped out differently depending on summer and winter. It really gave some usefull information about your engine temp.

Most OEM temperature gauges have a range where the needle won’t move (like 130-190F). This is to keep the uneducated people from rushing to the dealer if it ever were to move. One of the rare exceptions is the SRT-4.

I have an oil temp and oil pressure gauges in my GS-R. My year GS-R even has an oil to water cooler. You can see the oil temperature drop within a minute or two of getting off the highway, and idling at a red light. The same would happen with a more accurate water temperature gauge.
