Update at 1000 miles...

Our Fit Sport Manual almost 1k miles on it now. Yesterday I filled up the tank and the wifey, dog, and I headed for the coast. The drive was highway for a while, then mountain roads with plenty of high-revving passes made by me because OR drivers are slow. Then we cruised through Astoria, crossed the Columbia to WA and drove to Long Beach, WA. We let the dog run around on the beach for a while then headed back home via a more twisty route. I have a heavy foot and there were more than 5 long pass situations where I had that little 1.5 MAXXXXED, LOL. Today we ran around town going from store to store in regular city traffic.
After all our chores were done the total mileage was 305 and I filled up the tank. It took 8.2 gallons to top it off. That's 37.2 MPG for you tards. So, mixed driving Jeebus-style (the antithesis of pussy driving) netted more than excellent mileage. Oh and I finally got second gear to chirp.

Sweeeeet. That is a very promising number! Can't wait to get my Fit! What kind of RPMs were you hitting when it was "maxxed"?

Off topic, how was the weather on the coast yesterday? We were in Eugene for the day and it was damn nice.

Great report. Sounds like you and your Fit are getting to know each other well. MPG is awesome, although I'm sure we'll hear from the moped crowd who think it should be higher still.

Glad to see you're putting your foot into it. That's the essence of a Honda, first and foremost an engine that thinks it's a race car engine and begs to be treated as such.

the only reason you should be offended is if you can't compute gas mileage.

I'm never one to care if I offend.

maxxed = Passing lines of 5+ cars, foot to the floor, redlining each gear; hoping to holy hell that the little 1.5 hurrys up and gets past em all before that truck heading our way gets here.

and weather was great (we went saturday). Warm and sunny with little wind.

i highly, highly doubt it. bald tires, rain slicked road, abusive use of clutch; maybe.

I think jeebus has a little problem with shyness. If we are nice to him, he might come out of his shell and tell us what he really thinks.

Blue just became a very close second to storm silver. Have to wait to see them in person. Nice pics. December really isn't that far off, is it?

I WANT MY VBP FIT NOW!!!

Damn I can't wait to drive my Fit to work, instead of a beaten up 92 Civic DX that's doing commuting duty. This type of report and mileage figures are good news for me!

Mine will be getting over 2000 miles per month just to commute to work, plus fun mileage.
