How Many Days Does A Tank Of Gas Last

I'm curious to know how many days it takes before you go on empty?

Please include information on average miles drivin in a day. Also include what speed you were driving at.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

One tank can last me 2-3 weeks, or more. However, two of my roommates have cars so we share rides, and I ride my bike a lot.

Avg. miles/day = 10 or less around town mostly so 35mph ish.

I'm probably not an average driver.

7-10 days...

Drive about 20 miles/day + going around town. Averaging about 1200miles/month.

That's really great. Have you had any other vehicles? If so, does a tank of gas on the Fit last you longer?

i wouldn't necessarily say it lasts longer. My truck got about 18-21 mpg, but it had an 18 gal tank. with the fit its possible to make it last longer because the mpg can range from 30-50mpg. it really depends on the driver.

about 60miles one way to work. I typically drive the Fit to work Mon-Fri and we drive the wifes CRV (AT) on the weekend or during the week as a family(I try to get her to do most of the driving and the AT gives me a break when I drive it! ). For a while now, a tank has been lasting me 5-6 days for my daily commuting, good reason to hypermile.

~14 days. My girlfriend and I carpool to work, we alternate on a weekly basis between my fit and her '02 Civic. We drive about 16 miles each way, with a little over half of that being 65mph and the other have being city ~35mph.

Seems like a very subjective question, since it depends on how much one drives. I don't drive much (I live on campus), so a tank can last me up to a month. Though, there are nights I just feel like driving around for 50+ miles =P

3.5 days of driving to work.
My commute is 90 miles a day, but I carpool two days, so It typically lasts me just 7 days, depending on the amount of weekend / around town driving I do.

yeah, it might be better to ask about how many miles people get per tank before they fill up again, which i think would be ~300-340 miles for most people. then you can just figure out about how many miles you drive per day and see about how many days you'd last.

but anyway, i usually last about a week. just driving mostly speed limit on streets and ~65-70 on highway. i'm not sure about my avg. miles per day, it really fluctuates a lot, but i guess around 47 miles per day, though most of my miles are put on during the weekends.

That is true. A tank for me usually lasts like 5 days. I drive 30 miles each way at 75 mph most of the way, and then 55. I usually get around 330-345 miles before the light goes on. Good to know that my Fit is performing normally.

A tank of gas in my truck will last me about 6-7 days. Though I do know that it's because of the larger tank. Does anyone know if a vehicle will get better mileage if it is not driven for a month, and then driven until empty? It seems to be the case with my Silverado.

This observation is true but I think the OP was trying to get a better "feel" for the Fit crowd. There are several mpg posts all over (even ones like "I have 46.7 miles on this tank and here's a picture of my fuel gauge what mpg can I expect"..we won't go there) and he could get the answer you suggested from them. It's similar to how you can look at specs on a laptop all day (mpg posts) but when you go to Best Buy and click around (how many days do you drive on a tank) you can get a better feel for the computer.

Also for context the OP did ask us to post miles driven and speeds etc..
