Question Parallel Parking the Fit

Ok, I test drove the Fit. I like the the sloped hood but I cannot see the front of the car when I am in it.....seems like this might be problematic when I try to parallel park. Fit owners, what is your experience? Thanks.

Parallel parking is no problem. Most new cars have this 'can't see the front of the hood' issue, but just remember this is a fairly small car and shouldn't be a problem parking anywhere. Just give yourself a little room and you'll be surprised at how much space is actually left.

Yeah, it's easy to parallel park it. I don't even pay attention to not seeing the hood.

ummm, yeah sure its easy to parallel park in a spot that will hold a "regular" car (190 inches), but not being able to see the hood is DEFINATELY a problem when trying to park in anything under 170 in. Where i live, those are the spots that made me want to get a Fit so i might only park 2 blocks away instead of 5. Im sure eventually i'll just KNOW where the end of the hood is, but for now i've bumped other cars more than id like to (which would be never)

I actually saw a guy once get out of his car and stick one of those magnetic tow hitch alignment things on his front bumper, so he could tell where it was, when he was trying to park.

i parallel park my Fit twice without problems

you have to "feel" where the car is.. most cars these days you can't see the bumper

I dont have a fit yet but with my two other cars, I usually turn on my head light so i can see the reflection from the other car's bumper when I park

The only problem is that the big gas guzzlers like to park next to, in front or behind me -- kind of like the ample people on planes who find the little folks so they can flow into the adjacent seat.
