Fits are Contagious...
Fits are Contagious...
So... My folks came out to visit for Christmas. Upon climbing into my car at San Francisco Airport, they oo'ed and ahh'ed the voluminous interior, the spacious cargo hold. Starting down the 101, Dad said "Wow hun, I think this car rides nicer than yours!" (Mom's car = 2009 Civic EX Coupe)
Over the next week, I received a barrage of questions about it, showed off the ease of parking, the versatile modes for the rear seat.
Less than a week after they returned to Florida, Mom's 2009 Civic EX was gone, and in it's place, a white 2010 Fit Sport
I asked what she liked better... she said "Well, it has more space in the trunk, which will be good for hauling stuff to my classroom*, but mainly it's just FUN! It reminds me of having my old Beetle from college again!"

So there you have it - the Fit is indeed contagious!

I agree! I've had multiple friends in the market for a new car say they were going to look into one after being inside the car. Even a kid with an SRT was thinking about the change going from a 14 second stock car to a 18 second car and still saying it was more fun to drive. I love the fit I just wish they had a turbo option from the factory. It could still keep the gas mileage and feel like the car has much more power.
I should add - her Civic only had 4000 miles on it!!!
Ciggy: The Fit being slow doesn't bother me too much. It feels faster than my Element did, and if I want to go fast, I hop on the bike (~11.5 sec quarter mile and <4 sec 0-60. And not locked in a cage while I do it.)

It's way the hell too much fun to unwind on a twisty bit of road or stepping on it merging onto a highway. The only car I see in my budget that could offer that much fun would be the Fiat 500 Abarth, but that's not sold in the states yet...
