strangers talking to you about your fit

So this happened to me for the first time ever today

I was filling my tank and as i finish and put the cap back on, some middle aged man was like "hows your fit?" I didnt realize he was talking to me, it sounded like he said "how was your sh!t?" lol so we start talking and he tells me about how his 6' 4" friend has one and how he questioned it. and i go on and tell him all the details and stories, and how i got in an accident and was completely fine, how roomy it is and all that kind of stuff. I was surprised he even knew what a fit was. I work at a high school teaching the kids on the drumline how to drum (correctly ) and one of the kids needed a jump after he left his lights on during a 3 hour rehearsal... so i was kind enough to help him jump it with my car, so i pull in front of him and hes like "is that a prius??" i was about to loose it on him and drive away, but i held back.

but anyways, has this happened to you much?

I love it when people with ballin cars ask me about the GE8. My favorite moment was when this F430 driver asked if I liked the GE8 and how much MPG I get. He said that he was planning on getting one as a daily driver.

I was that guy. I had done my research online and taken a test drive, but hadn't actually talked to an owner.

I watched a red fit pull into a Trader Joe's parking lot. I went in, and when I saw the driver walk in, I smiled and asked "Are you driving the red Fit? How do you like it?"

When she said "I love it!" and went on to list all the things that she liked about the car, it just confirmed the reviews and other online information.

Sealed the deal.

yah, it's crazy. some folks will come up to you and ask how you like your Fit and then they start going down the list of specifications like cargo space down to the cubic feet and all sorts of features and things. im like man, you did your research!

im standing there, like 'oh really... wow, i didn't know that, seriously? dang, wow." yah, i just drive it to work.

I pulled up to the drive thru at the bank and the teller comes on the microphone and asked me what kind of car it was. I told her and she said, "wow, well I really like it!"
That made me smile so big!

Another time I was at Whataburger and a guy stopped me as I was about to get into my car and asked me what kind of car it was (I'm debadged) and also how I liked it. I did the schpiel about the gas mileage, cargo capacity, peppiness, interior room...he smiled and said he liked it. (he was in a redneck truck)

The oddest conversation with a stranger was with LA County Sheriffs who just so happens to pull up next to me on a long red traffic light/train to pass on by. The sheriff on the passenger seat started talking to me and ask about my MPG how i like the car etc etc... and that he's thinking about getting one for his wife etc... etc...

i really got questioned during the whole $4.00/gal epidemic a couple summers ago. every time I filled up someone would ask "oh, does that do well?"
it was funny cuz I'd just look at them, usually in their truck, and tell him what was up.

mostly i get questions when i deliver stuff from work to customers b/c it won't fit in their car/truck/suv. the best was a lady who spent over $600 bucks on mirrors, pictures, lamps and floral pieces. nothing would fit in her husband's hummer so i told her i'd drop it off after work. when i pulled up and he saw my car he was like "what could she get in your car that wouldn't go in my truck?"

after i unloaded everything he said that it was just mean how much stuff i can hold. and to never let his wife back into my store unsupervised.....

Yeah really, Hummers are ridiculous vehicles! The Hummer is the epitome of American consumerism. I'm so glad that they couldn't sell the Hummer brand, even the Chinese said no to THAT much pollution!

Happens Occasionally...

Yep! Just this morning, an older lady passed by as I was getting out of my car and said "that is a BEAUTIFUL (NOT CUTE!) car!" Last week, two walkers stopped me to inquire as to "did I really like it, how many mpg, etc etc!!

'07 "BEAUTIFUL" VBP Sport 5MT w/minor appearance & comfort mods!!
