New Fit

So I just finished the paper work at the honda dealer on my new red 2010 fit MT that is going to be delivered monday. Just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions as to modifications to start with other than possibly an intake and getting 16" tires instead of those little 15". Oh and if anyone has any suggestions as to break in? I have a 4 hour drive monday night to make in it and it goes through the middle of nowhere so I have plenty of chances to top it out if its safe for the engine.

Thanks

As far as break-in? Go strictly by the manual... Honda tells you about your break-in period for a reason!

From the Manual:

Break-in Period

Help assure your vehicle's future
reliability and performance by paying
extra attention to how you drive
during the first 600 miles (1,000 km).

During this period:

● Avoid full-throttle starts and rapid
acceleration.
● Avoid hard braking for the first 200
miles (300 km).
● Do not change the oil until the
scheduled maintenance time.
You should also follow these
recommendations with an
overhauled or exchanged engine, or
when the brakes are replaced.

It's as simple as that!

As far as mods? Just look around the forum... check out the exhausting amount of mods performed by forum members. I'm sure your "inner tuner" person will guide you as to which mods should be first after you've been enticed by all of the regulars and posts at this site. It's a nice place for Fit owners who want to enhance and squeeze more from their Fits.

It's a very bad place for those trying to save money!

Welcome to Fit ownership... they're cool little cars, for sure.

Awesome! Thanks. Even though I do believe this is going to be the longest 600 miles ever...

Yeah i doubt i'm going to be saving much money. Looking to drop a k24 in it when i get it paid off. Intake is on the top of my list at the moment. Followed by getting rid of those tiny effing tires that are such a pain in the butt to find when it comes time to replace them.
