If you get a fit with the Nav option it also comes with VSA. It really helps in the winter. Not sure all the years this applies to.

It isn't limited to cars with the NAV option. My 2011 Fit Sport has stability control. It's a lifesaver on icy or snowy pavement, but it takes 90% of the fun out of driving at other times. I wish it defaulted to 'off'.

Looks like 2011 was the year VSA became standard on the Fit Sport. 2010 and earlier I believe you had to have the Nav option to get VSA.

57 here, have owned too many cars to remember them all from Camaro's to station wagons! This seems like a good car for the present time

I'm 39. My salesperson told me the demo is usually late teens and early twenties or baby boomers. I don't "Fit" either of those demos. It seems like everyone on these boards are pretty diverse in age. I usually see younger Fit drivers in my area though.

Long thread...

I'd suppose we've gotten enough entries now that there may be little point in adding another that will get buried in the heavy volume, but....

I'm a 43 year old male, and just got a 2015 Fit EX a bit under 3 weeks ago.

Before, I had:

2011 Hyundai Sonata (traded for Fit with 83,000 miles on it)
1999 Honda Accord V6 Coupe (traded for Sonata with nearly 300,000 miles)
1993 Nissan Altima (traded for Accord with around 160,000 miles)
1984 Ford Escort diesel (can't recall mileage)
1976 Ford Pinto (also can't recall mileage)

I've tended to keep cars for a while. The Sonata was the exception because I was for once trading for a multitude of factors which typically weren't present early in the lives of other cars -- but none of those factors had anything to do with the dependability or quality or comfort of that car. It was good on all of that. It had more to do with the Fit having grabbed my eye and I couldn't let it go, a drastic increase in gas mileage (I commute a lot), a more agile car, something that's easier to park in all of these Atlanta parking garages, and that I had an unusually heavy driving pattern for most of the 3 years that I had the Sonata and put a lot more miles than usual in a short time and felt like I wanted to start fresh once that leveled off -- as I had a lot of miles for a relatively new car and wanted to get something for it while it was still worth something. Still, the Sonata was a decent car.

The Accord, though, was a pretty great car. Got 300,000 miles without having to ever do much in the way of repairs and really didn't do nearly as much of the maintenance as I was supposed to have been keeping up -- oil changes and such were very regular but I sure didn't do radiator flushes, air filters, etc. as I was supposed to. Shocking that it lasted so long despite that, and with the Sonata and Fit I'm almost religious with doing the recommended maintenance. Further, that Accord was a good car in nearly every other way -- comfort, good ride, etc.

But here I'm off to a great start with the Fit, perhaps enjoying it more than any of the other cars (other than overall comfort, which was nearly even between the Accord and Sonata), and loving the high 30s fuel economy which I have been consistently getting even with some city driving in the mix.

EDIT: Like the guy above (39 YO) I probably don't "Fit" the expected/typical demographic, but I'm a real tightwad with the money and try not to spend any more than I can manage to keep in my pocket... so a car such as this, while presumably meant for "entry level" and other lower income drivers, is great for someone like me -- I could afford a good deal more but prefer to get a bargain such as this which has a lot to offer, and save my money.

enjoyed your honest evaluation.....the civic has to be the bread & butter car for honda but i'm feeling the fit is going to replace the civic in that areana. the fit is now priced at what the civic used to be , honda's entry level car.
good luck with yours....i have an 09 sport and loved it so much helped my son purchase a 13 base model. i guess i need to go look at the 15 model......
cheers

I'm 43.

My 2013 Fit is my very first brand-new car. Ever. My previous vehicles were all used when I bought them:

1978 Buick Skylark hardtop (great car unless it was raining - then it stalled all the time)
1988 Mercury Tracer hatchback (loved this car, was a beast in the snow)
1993? Honda Civic (radiator blew up)
1992? Acura Integra 2-door (my "midlife crisis" car)
1995? Plymouth Grand Voyager (Ex-wife totaled it)
1995? Ford Escort Sport (only had about a month before totaling it around a telephone pole)
199?? Ford Escort Wagon
1985? Nissan Sentra (never really liked it)
1998 Chrysler Town & Country (traded for Fit)
1999 Ford Contour (traded for Fit)

I think that's it. Way too many vehicles. LOL.

Age of Fit Owners

Dave in Delaware, I think I've got you beat on number of cars:
1949 Mercury 1952 Mercury 1959 Plymouth
1957 MGA 1960 Hillman Minx Convertible 1964 Chevy
1969 Ford Galaxy 1970 Pinto 1971 Maverick 1972 LTD
1977 Thunderbird 1978 LTD Wagon 1979 Ford LTD
1984 Toyota Camry 1986 Toyota Cressida 1990 Toyota Cressida
19 Toyota Tercel 2000 Toyota RAV4 2006 Toyota RAV4
1996 Lexus E300 2008 Lexus ES350 2010 Fit Sport

Now that's excess! No, I'm not a dealer, I just liked to drive new cars.

I'm 75

The 2015 looks nice. After trading a Lexus ES350 for my 2010 Fit the only things I really miss are an outside temp gauge and a decent center console. Other than those things I love it.

Yes, you sure do! And beat by a few more years, too.

My mother had a Ford Maverick, early 70's model IIRC, blue with the white stripe on the hood.

And I learned how to drive with her 1981(?) Dodge Omni hatchback.

32, picked up my first Honda, the 2015 Fit LX 6spd.

Never gave these cars a second look on the road, so this purchase kinda caught me by surprise. Way to go Honda.
