Wheel packing HELP!

hey guys, as some of you may know iam got my wheels up on ebay.. and for thoes of you that don't know come and bid on em! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT

Anyways.. I thought I was going to ship them in some thick plastic wrapping stuff. So I went and bought some today and set out to try and wrap em all up.. WOW THAT WAS A DIFFICULT TASK! I gave up on that see as how crappy they would look and there would be many holes. So I have turned to the fourms.. can you give me some more ideas on shipping methods? I was thinking I could try and find some boxes and fill em with news papers and stuff but not sure how or where I could get boxes like that.. please help!

I shipped wheels before with no probs. What I do is ship a pair at a time. I put two piece of cardboard between the wheels. I use some long zip ties to secure the wheels together or combine two zip ties to make em longer. Then I wrap up both sets in bubble wrap and tape em up tight. I put the shipping info on both of them and put clear packing over em. I bring em all to UPS/FedEx and make sure they go over em themselves as well. Be sure to take em directly to UPS or FedEx because they only take of the shipper. If u use one of the third party places and something goes wrong, it takes longer because UPS considers the 3rd party place as the shipper and not you!! I know because I learned the hard way. With anything expensive I ship directly from UPS or FedEx, or even better yet, the USPS.

cut out cardboard circles to cover both sides of the wheels and ship each one with the tires on them. This way you have the surface of the wheel protected and the tires adds protetion too...

He's probably talking about the stretch wrap (like industrial Saran Wrap), found at office supply places, like Staples.

Okay, how about eight bucks for a 100' roll from Lowe's?

You might try some of the expanding foam stuff. I don't know where to get it but you could spray some into a plastic bag and tie the bag shut then put the bag into the bottom of a box then lay one wheel on top of it. Then do another bag and put it on top of that wheel then add another wheel. You might get them all into the same box that way.

That foam stuff is almost like the expanding foam insulation except it isn't as sticky. It will set up and be firm enough to maybe hold the wheels apart so that they won't bang against each other. I have seen the foam packing used and I think it would work but I am not sure of it.
