The fit isn't fast, but:
by yourself with no AC- zippy and fun. This is when you love the car.
by yourself with AC- a little sluggish but ok.
by yourself with an extra person and AC- better plan ahead.
by yourself with 3 extra people and AC- pretend you need to plan ahead like a tractor-trailer. This is when you wish you had boost/V8/both.

With all those people and AC, the car feels like it makes 60whp, which would give about the same acceleration if that were the case and you were by yourself.

That is true, man. You said it perfectly.

I personally turn off the a/c on uphills then turn it back on when the car gained enough speed. You'll be surprised how much power the car gets. I don't want to be embarrassed by other passing cars even though I let my passengers (including me) sweat out for a moment.

Moreover, I really turn off the a/c even at cold weather except when mist starts to build up on the windows and windshield.

My only complaint about the uphills is that Honda's "Grade-Logic" seems to have disappeared. Leave the cruise on going up a long uphill grade, it it will hunt for the perfect gear like a sales rack at Kohls. Thank the FSM for the manual mode - more useful on the highway than anywhere else!
