Ok not really sure where to put this but...

This evening, was visiting the neighbor, she was clipping bushes on her drive.. bottom half so like maybe a oh 10% grade if that. turned the car off, put it in gear, let off the brake and it rolled back a bit.. normal for a manial. BUT.. it started creeping and catching and creeping and catching. Almost like the trany was slipping?? I'm not sure. put my foot back on the brake, double checked to make sure it was fully in gear. let off the brake same thing. Finally just pulled the emergency brake and stopped the nonsense.

Thing is.. I have NEVER had a manual trany do that, even on a greater grade. My 25 year old honda doesn't do it and it's a manual.

Any ideas?

You need to ride the clutch a bit or be verrrrrrrrry smouth...
Be 100% shure that you put it in reverse when the car is not
moving at all (in the owner manuel)

OR, you were not completly in gear... Go from 1st to rear to
be shure it's in. The rear is notchy sometimes... Happened
to me once...

I rarely use the hand brake but there is a portion of the hill in my apartment complex where my old sentra and my new fit will roll if I just park in gear. And yes its a jerky looking roll because its just barely cranking the motor and trans. Best thing to do is use the hand brake if you're on a hill man.

yeah looks like I'll need to.
the old honda never snuck rolled ever and it's 25 years old.
Guess it has to do with the engine size shrug..
