Aloha! Brand New Fit! Thoughts on....
Aloha all -
Just took advantage of the lovely .9% financing and got a 2010 Fit Sport a few days ago. Tinting is already complete and now it's on to the seats and floor mats.
Questions:
1. What have you all done with the seats? The fabric is a dog-hair magnet (I haul dogs all over the place) and not very comfortable. We have 2 thoughts on this: After market leather (katzkins) or Wet Okole. Had Wet Okole on my last car for 10 years. They are hot, ugly and started to die around the 6 year mark. We do live in Hawaii but don't spend a lot of time in the car wet. And with the tinting the leather surface shouldn't get too hot. At least it breathes unlike the neoprene.
Should we just stick to factory seats and not worry about it?
2. Floor mats. Holy crap has this been a pain to find decent, deep-groove floor mats. The "generic" mats don't fit the front well at all. The Honda mats didn't have deep enough grooves to suck up the sand and dirt we track into the car. Suggestions?
Thanks everyone - I see a lot of Hawaii folks on these boards so I hope they will chime in with thoughts on the seats in Hawaii.
Mahalo,
Denise

second vote for clazzio and weathertech.
I used to own wet okoles back when I lived back in Hawaii too. I didn't like the smell they gave off on hot days. They were awesome for after hiking, beach, paintball though because they were super easy to clean. If you do decide to go with clazzio I suggest the leather because if you go with pvc aka vinyl you'll literally end up with a wet okole on hot days.
I went with the factory rubber mats and while they're of pretty good build quality the front passenger side shifts forward all the time and they aren't very deep. My freind has weathertechs in his civic and they're excellent. They hold water, mud, and snow.

OEM all weather should suit you, but the Weather techs are nice. Search on the site, many discussions. A dry micro fiber cloth will wipe the seats clean for just about anything on them, though I've never tried it w/ dog hair.
