Not even noticable - AC on or off except for the fan.

i notice quite a difference with the aircon on. i guess its cos the aircon unit isnt the same here in Thailand. I think its more "HEAVY DUTY". if you have ever bin to thailand befor you should know what i mean. 0 - 60 is prob 2 second slower maybe 1 second

Must be different units in JDM / Australia because this is the hotest dryest continent on earth. 55C in the shade much warmer in the sun during summer on the Western Australian / Northern Territory border. Just as tropical in Northern Queensland as Bangkok ever gets. In fact it gets far more humid in Osaka in summer than Bangkok and the JDM AC unit copes just fine. Power is cut automaticly to the AC under WOT. Still pulling consistent sub 9 sec 0-100km/hr in CVT Fit/Jazzes.

It's a Honda thing. I've had three Hondas and they all were the same. You turn on the air and the power is sucked right out of the car. Even with that said, I still wouldn't drive anything else. Where I live you only have to worry about using the air a couple of months a year though.

During my test Drive with the Air Conditioning on with 3 people in the car I was amazed at the level of power the little fit had. To me that was the issue that most concerned me that was instantly "NOT" an issue after the test drive. I wouldnt worry about being concerned that the Fit does not have enough power. It doesn't bother me and I am used to autos with 400-500 whp. Face it the Fit is a high gas mileage sub-compact vehicle. Yes, you can make it out to be VERY sporty and Totally Fun to drive, but it will never be a Supra TT.

Most Hondas that I know off actually turn off the AC under full throttle. So if you really need power just mash the throttle...

I have 4 hondas in my driveway right now. the only one the a/c doesn't affect is my DC2. I notice it in my pilot, my EF and my fit. Small price to pay to have chilly faces

I notice a loss of power only when the A/C is on 4. I reduce it to 3 or below and feel no poer difference at all. Tried it out last week when we were almost 100.

had the ac on, looked at the dashboard and, oops, I was going 90. There was no indicators revealing lack of power. I was expecting a reaction relating to rate of speed but it was just holding its own.

With the A/C on it picks up pretty fast...i have broken the motor well so when i drive with the A/C on it picks up well...it does feel a bit slower then having it off, but thats normal...this is with my 5spd...i would say for your DC5 that motor is all power with the A/C on or off

I noticed a very slight difference in speed on a trip from SoCal to NorCal this weekend, but it did suck up the gas like crazy.

I was cruising about 80 and only got about 300 miles on the tank. I missed one exit & the next gas wasn't for like 40 miles and not realizing the gas guzzling at the time I just barely made the next gas station. Those last 10 miles I drove like 60 and was sweating bullets from no AC and panic.

Also going up those LA hills was a reality check. Just like all my other Hondas, I should've known. Had to downshift and change into those slowpoke lanes until I built up speed again.

Would have been nice if Honda went with an electric compressor.

I keep waiting for vehicle manufacturers to change over to a 48v system with a 48v battery. Most peripherals will be electric, which should reduce the load on the engine.

We'll see what happens.
