I saw my first Fit on the road today in Woodbridge, VA. He was in a Vivid Blue Sport. I waved but he either didn't see me or didn't know why the heck I was waving because I got no reaction. Hendrick Honda in Woodbridge had two on the lot this afternoon - a red Base and a blue Sport.
To my horror, when I was getting out of the passenger side this afternoon, I discovered a small dent and paint chip. I was so upset; I guess I got it in a parking lot or got hit by a rock. Since I'm usually driving, I hadn't seen it before. It could have been there a while.
Has anybody gotten touch-up paint for their Fit yet? My dealer hasn't got any yet. I am going to check on-line tonight. Until then, I'll have to use the clear nail polish trick.

 

I had to special order touch-up paint for my Vivid Blue Sport, in order to repair some scratches that appeared on my Fit, before it was even a week old. It took four days for the paint to come in, but matched perfectly.

Remember, several thin layers, is much better than one, thick glob of paint. Make sure you shake it for a long time, too.

It is always awsome to see another one on the road. I still have not gotten a chance to talk to anyone in person that owns one though. Well... I'm waiting for my best friend to get his and then I will lol...

 

I also saw a Vivid Blue Pearl Sport this weekend, and she may live near me, since we were passing at the neighborhood intersection. I did the wave thing, too, but she had no reaction. My Fit passed right by her and she didn't seem to notice. I hope she's enthused about her car! I feel the pain of all our Forum members who can't find a Fit. I think it was the same car I saw and photographed in the showroom on April 20, the official release date when I was allowed to drive my Storm Silver home. What an agonizing three week wait that was! But I am so glad I bought when I did.

 

Meant to mention -- my dealer's parts dept. ordered the Storm Silver touchup paint for me. There are a couple of small nicks in mine, not that visible, but of course those first ones are painful! It cost me about $8.60 for the bottle -- and by the way, he said to use the fuzzy end of a cardboard matchstick, and not the brush, for accurate application.

 

In the month and week since I've had my car I think I've seen a total of 4 on the road and 2 parked. I passed just one on a long road trip across Cali back and forth this last week, that was in Orange Co (saw only 1 while in San Diego parked). I would've honked and waved but right at that moment I was in the midst of a tiff w/my passenger and well the mood was just not right for honking and waving (besides we flew right past them pushing that anger pedal).

Richmond, VA- Theres a base VVP, Silver, and another Sport VVP like mine around here...on my trip to Ohio my wife and I spotted a Black sport, a Red base, and another VVP sport. That's it, though, and I've had it since April 20.
