GE8 exhaust input...

I'm looking to pick up an aftermarket exhaust system for my '10 GE8.

As immature as this might sound to some of you, I'd like to get the loudest system possible while still maintaining EPA standards because I'd like to be able to hear the engine over my stereo. Nothing too obnoxious though...

Just wanted to see what your experiences have been with aftermarket systems and if anyone had any reccomendations based on sounds levels and performance.

Axle-back vs. Cat-back?

Right now I'm leaning towards Greddy's Ti-C or Tanabe's Concept G

You probably won't find anything louder (or cheaper) than this: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...axle-back.html

The straight through axle back fart cans are a waste unless you're into the "show" aspect. Just take it to an exhaust shop and have them make you a straight pipe axle back.... it'll be cheap and sound very close, maybe a little louder but not a whole lot since the exhaust still has to get through the cat and resonator.

Not only that but fart cans stand out.. plain tips do not.

Huh?

If you want to hear it over your stereo... why not just turn down the volume of the stereo?

Hey there,

Have you considered the T1R S51 muffler?

The tone is going to have a notable difference from stock, but not too loud. I've attached a sound clip for more details.

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ideo-clip.html

If you have more questions about the exhaust, let me know. I can offer a special price for you.

Regards,

Jason @ AJR

I have a Magnaflow universal muffler on my ride, that's it. Part #11132 and it sounds very good IMO, but not loud, just perfect I guess you could remove the resonater along with this muffler to make it a bit louder.

Good luck to you
