Does a bike fit in my 2010 Fit?

But yeah, a bike should fit the fit no problem.

Unless it is a beach cruiser or a Dutch Gazelle you probably will be fine, but, like others said, a hitch and hitch rack makes things so much easier (especially if you have two bikes). Also, did you say what type of bike you are buying? There are some models that are really heavy and trying to maneuver a 40lb+ bike while leaning over can tweak your back. Enjoy the car and the new bike!

Fit two road bikes upright in 2012 Fit
I am currently considering the purchase of a 2012 Honda Fit. This will be my first new car since my 1981 Honda Prelude, so a big decision. I have been reading that two bikes will fit upright, but I took my small (54cm) road bike to the Honda dealer yesterday and it fit, but just barely, so now I definitely need to take both mine and my wife's bikes to the dealer to check out. All of the images that I have seen are mountain, BMX or Highbrids with flat handle bars. The road bike handle bars extend the overall length of the bike significantly. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can be successful.
PS the reason I want them inside is because I live in Colorado and I like to go to the mountains for early morning rides which are usually followed by hiking, eating, drinking and afternoon thunderstorms and I prefer the security of the bike being inside the vehicle.
Thanks

With the rear seats flattened down, my 58 cm road bike does not fit straight into the back with only the front tire removed. My wife's small road bike does fit with in without its front tire, albeit barely. So I bring along an old comforter, take all four wheels off, and place the bikes on their saddles and handlebars lengthwise in the back, and then I drape the comforter over the bikes; I wedge the tires into the folds of the comforter that is in the space between the bikes. It takes all of about two more minutes longer to do this, but it keeps chain grease off of things.

I ride a fixie and can fit it in just fine with the front tire.

I turn my wheel so that the bike (from a top view) looks like a 7. Then I just put the front tire in between the back of my seat and the top of my rear seats (they're down).
Might have to take a picture later and show you.

I am considering buying a 2012 Fit as well. Definitely will be interested in seeing the picture of how you do it. I will have 2 road bikes to carry and prefer not to remove any wheels. Both bikes are size small.

Finally got off my butt and took a pic. I've been pretty busy with work and finding a new apartment since my lease is ending.
Like I said, this is in a 2007 Honda Fit (GD3)
It's a fixie with the front wheel still attached, I just turned it and eased it in. There was also enough room for some taillights and side mirrors.

You can always put blankets in between the bikes (if you are using my method) to avoid any scuffing. I could have removed both front wheels and placed them in nicer, but I'm just lazy and wanted to get both of them in and out as quickly as possible. :P
