Honda Fit Shuttle

Eh? Never heard of it.

A bonanza of allegedly official brochure photos showing a new, station-wagon-like variant of the Japanese domestic market [JDM] Fit have leaked onto the internet. Named the Fit Shuttle, the car appears to be based on the recently refreshed Fit (Honda uses the Jazz nameplate in Europe, Australia and other international markets) featuring a longer body with taller roofline and a redesigned rear end.

As you can see in the brochure shots, the Fit Shuttle will be offered in two flavors, a Hybrid version powered by the same IMA system with a 1.3 liter i-VTEC engine featured on the five-door hatchback model, and a more powerful variant with a regular 1.5-liter gasoline unit.

According to the Japanese media, the Fit Shuttle will be introduced in its home market within the next few weeks with sales to start around March. We'll follow the story and keep you posted on any updates.

I'd take it over the new Odyssey.

I think Honda could do well with that vehicle here. Most people who drive a Fit are not particularly obsessed with it's aesthetics, from what I can tell. The tail lights would have to get un-cleared though, of course.

If gas prices went way up, this would be on the short list for a lot of folks based on practicality alone. The new Prius V concept will probably get sold here eventually.

I guess this is to compete with Toyota's minivan version of the Prius?

yah, that and probably the Mazda5. but the Maz5 has sliding doors and 3rd row-ish seats...which is a plus for anything that looks like a poorman's econobox.

i mean, it looks like a cheap stationwagon anyway, at least make it more functional.

After seeing these pics, I'm *really* never going to be able to look at a GE again without seeing a minivan.

Honda already has a minivan built off the Fit, the Honda Freed:
Honda Freed - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Honda Worldwide | May 29, 2008 "Honda Begins Sales of New Compact Minivan: the Freed"

And it supposedly seats up to 8 adults (really tiny ones I guess?)

And I think I'd rather have a Honda Airwave than this Fit shuttle...
