any car is evolving to higher power every single year.
but do u want to see fit becoming like civic?
bigger engine, more spaces, bigger bodies approaching accord, more money for buying it?
yeah, i guess soon or later, fit will be like civic going $22000, 2.0 liters and 200hp, taking only 25 mpg instead of 38 mpg, and only attracts a certain age group buyers, same size like an accord.
the current fit is perfect for its market at its price for its buyers today. that's all i can say.

Any info on this? I DID do a search for it, and checked the faq's and searched for half an hour before posting this, so NO FLAMING! :-p

The Civic has gone "upscale" because of the introduction of the Fit. The regular Civic today is still a bargain; I guess you are quoting the price, engine displacement, horsepower, and fuel economy of the hot-rod Si version.

Keep in mind that the Fit/Jazz is a global design where the majority of sales come from Europe and Japan; Honda will certainly keep that in mind when designing the next generation Fit. It will remain small, practical, fuel efficient, and fun to drive.

Cool

Every car in Honda's lineup seems to grow bigger and bigger.

Or in the case of the Acura NSX, double in price for some reason.

really hope so, i can't stand seeing the same model growing bigger and bigger. why don't peopel just buy other bigger models or buy some other go-fast cars if they are hoping so much more from what it is now.... already at the first year....

Looking Back:
I just gave my 1998 Civic to my son. It seems about the same size as the ~1985 Accord my wife had when we met.

Looking Forward:
Smaller cars are here to stay in the USA. It would be nice if the Fit was the first model to stay in-touch with global opinion (ok along with some local flavor). I agree with-
