Insurance question

I'm in the process of getting quotes....the best quote I got is from a small no-name company...should I be going with a more reputable company or does this not matter?

Thanks!

ARGGh I'm so jealous! I'm 31 and getting quotes for like $140-50 a month!!! Shouldn't it be cheaper for me cuz I'm older? I mean geez, being older should have its benefits hahaha!!!

Then again you are in Houston and I'm in Jersey....

It all comes down to making a claim. AMICA is tops in this department, per Consumers Report Mag.
Too bad they were higher though. I went with AAA. But my friend is a claims agent for AAA and even he said AMICA performs "more nobly" in this aspect.

I paid $550 for 6 months. Try going online to progressive and check their rates as well as their competitors. Also keep in mind that any prior accidents / tickets will negatively affect you.

New Jersey insurance rates are terrible. I pay $2000/year on my 91 supra, with no accidents or tickets on my record. Also i'm 22 and still on my mom's policy

...

35 yrs old, 3 vehicles, plus all the other discounts(house, life) from State Farm.... $275 every 6 months.

When I first paid it, it was $325, then they sent me a refund of $50. I think they didn't have the numbers yet so they guessed/based it on another car.

I use a smallish unknown company and I pay $690/yr $200 deductible. I do have 2 cars on the policy, have been w/them forever (so I'm not so young either), and currently no points (fingers crossed).

I was worried they would drop me at my renewal time cuz I live in a not so good neighborhood and in the last few years have had 2 hit & runs, been rear ended (by a cop no less), cars broken into, my beloved 92 Civic hatchback VX was totaled in the middle of the night by a drunk and they don't even know about all the smashed windows. Anyway, it may take this company an extra day to process the claims and whatnot but they have always come through for me. So I guess it comes down to your patience for such things when problems arise.

My Fit sport is $253/6 months. I'm 30, married with 3 cars, 2 life insurance polices, home owners, RV insurance, 1 motorcycle all with the same company.

I am at $305/6 months with a $200 deductible through Farmers. 3 cars/1 home/2 life policies and 40 yrs. To my delight, the rate on my brand new Fit was $20 lower than my 11 year old Mazda!!

i was just quoted $1000/6 months.
i'm 22, have a clean record, recieve a good student discount, and i'm on my mom's policy. Also, its full coverage. Only about $75 more every 6 months than my 91 supra.

NJ sucks...

Try Progressive Insurance at www.progressive.com before buying from anyone. I have been using them for several years and they have the lowest prices and great service when my wife was involved in an accident a couple of years ago.

Try www.Geico.com.
I switched to them after almost 15 yrs with Allstate.
( Single plan, 2 autos = $633.00x6mths - Savings of $500.yr )
Thinking of switching my home ins to them too!

Stay away from Allstate.

I switched to AAA. Cheaper and don't try to screw you over so much like Allstate does when you make a claim.
