Cool Maintenance Minder

My first 15 percent hit at 6115, but the dealer required an appointment to change the oil. It was a pain every time I got in to have the minder in my face and have to push the button to bring up the mileage. Finally today the dealer changed the oil taking an hour and a half to do so. But at least the annoying light is out...

Did you have a look at your oil before you changed it? I've had the car for almost a year now and I am still at 40% oil life. just wondering what the oil was starting to like at 15%.

If you hit the 1yr mark before the 15% mark Honda recommendation is to change the oil.

I'm guessing you sold those cars in those countries?

That's what I used to do with my previous automobiles which were sold abroad (they were RHD). I just wasn't sure when it came to the first oil change on the Fit. I physically inspected my oil and it looks like it could use a change in the next month or so.

The car was made in March of '10 incidentally, and it's not on the recall. I was thinking of combining trips but now it doesn't seem that's going to happen.

Hey Blackbeard, what dealership did you take it to?

Yeah, you try driving it until it blinks negative numbers!

My first oil change was at 6007 miles, the MM blinked -2 when I got to the dealer (more than 4 miles away).

I just had the same dealer do my second oil change @12.5k miles, I had planned on doing it myself, but couldn't find any 0w-20 oil in any shops open after 10pm (after work). Got fed up with the blinking negative number (-100!), so I went to the dealer.

But I did check it and found it much darker than it is now (clear), but I have seen worse on other cars. I always like to check the oil after an oil change to make sure the oil is full and they did not fill it then pump half a quart into the empty oil filter.

Anyone would do this...It drove me mad after a week to have to keep pushing the button...I can't imagine a month or more....
