Total Mileage: Inaugural Fill-Up
OK, I've milked every mile out of what amounts to, practically, a 10 gallon tank. I estimate 350 miles. 270 Highway (commute) 80 city. So, roughly, 35 mpg. I should add that I've been toting around 50-75 lbs. of camping gear (for about 5 days) for a trip that now looks like it ain't happening.
Does that sound about right?

I just completed the first full measured tank on my 2011 Sport AT. Car mileage computer says 37.0 mpg but the calculated mileage based on odometer miles divided by gas added to give pump shutoff gives 39.2 mpg. This is particularly impressive since the mileage computers are often accused of happy think.
There is always the issue of whether the pump shuts off at the same point each time, so it will take a few refills at the same pump to be sure that the mileage computer is really underestimating true fuel efficiency.
