Question Intelligent alternator driving

Hi there,
this is an edit of a morning question: I was just wondering whether anybody knew if GD alternator was always on or was smartly driven.

After a while I found Honda Jazz/Fit pinout and a good article:

http://www.acuravigorclub.com/Timely...Timely1201.htm

reporting the charging strategy used by ECU which "smartly" drives the alternator".

At least I learned to switch headlights off unless strictly necessary because the ECU starts the alternator whenever electrical load is over a certain (rather low) threshold.

Mod: if you feel like, please cancel this thread...

Thanks, this is interesting. I'm always turning on my headlights on my commute home just out of habit (probably b/c my commute TO work is at 6AM so I'm just used to it). One more thing to try to suck a little more MPG out of the Fit!
