How to remove black trim cover on the hatch lid?
Anyone have the manual or know how to remove that black plastic piece that covers the hatch lid? I was a little to curious today and pushed that round plastic button and it flew inside.
I need to take the cover off to get to the piece that covers the hole

i pushed in that round plastic button on the inside of the hatch door (probably opposite side to your rear licence plate) on the first day home, checking out all the neat lil nooks about the car..
then i was like "oops... i dont think that shoulda happened"
so i stuck my finger in the hole and couldnt reach anything so i said forget about it... lol
i'd like to maybe know too

I'd like to know because now I know the hole is there it's bugging me.
Too funny! I did the same thing! Just take it in to the dealer and tell them it isn't there. They'll order you a new one under warranty.
It's definitely not worth pulling the hatch apart.
BTW - the part # is 91634-SM4-000ZA and it lists for $3.93 - if you just want to do it yourself.

From the service manual, it looks like you release two clips beside the tailgate latch. They are on the underside of the door when the hatch is closed near the grab handle on the door. To remove them, push the the little button in the middle of them and they should release. Take them out then pull down on the door from the back to release all 10 of the other clips. They are the white ones that hold all the other door panels on. They can be a pain and get stuck and break so I always order more. This is the best place to get those little suckers, http://tinyurl.com/kfwew. They are part #91560-S84-A01, #22 in the exploded diagram.
