The reason I ask is because my insurance company has a gps tracker plugged into my onboard diagnostic port for the time being. After they remove it though, I was thinking about putting my own GPS tracker in it, just in case.

No, mine is from American Family. They're paying me $40 to monitor me with it. I wouldn't mind if they kept it in permanently.

Will they locate it if the car gets stolen? It would be in their best interest! LOL

Yes they could easily trace it. Which is why I'd be happy for them to just leave it in there. Since I don't expect them to do that though, I'd like to find some after-market GPS that will plug into the onboard diagnostics port, in case my car ever gets stolen.

A google search will find them. Sounds like your insurance co wants to keep an eye on you...

I'm not worried about my insurance company keeping an eye on me. After they see how I drive, realistically my rates should drop more than anything else. In the meantime they're paying me to connect the GPS device. It's been in there for a long time now.

I did do a Google search for what I'm asking for in this thread and so far I can't find what I'm asking for. That's why I started this thread
