Back from the dead
Back from the dead
hey everyone.
its been....awhile. some of you (hopefully?) may remember me from the gd3 forums, i was pretty regular on here.
to make a long story short, i stopped posting here when i traded out of my gd. into a lightly used mkv GTI. I loved the car, and she was reliable..but expensive to generally maintain and not easy on gas in this day and age.
i wouldnt have minded another civic, but i knew i'd miss my hatch, so i recently picked up a leftover 2010 fit sport in taffeta white. no pics as of right now, (we all know what they look like) but i just wanted to stop in and say hey to everyone, and try to get back into the swing of things here. the forums seem to be pretty fleshed out still, which is good.
its good to 'home' so to speak.
loving the ge8 too...for whats its worth, as a dd, its massively improved over the gd3.

Like I said, I enjoyed some of your posts... now you can add to the GE discussion.
Wow... I hope you don't miss the added speed of the GTI... compared to the GE, and especially the GD. Although, I don't really know if the GTI was all THAT much faster. Yet still, faster nevertheless.
I always wanted to ask the question whether the GE was improved, and how much, over the GD. But there seemed to be this "hands-off" approach to making a GD/GE comparison when I first came on the forum... so I steered clear. I think there was even a post from a site OP basically stating "Enough of the GD/GE argument".
Whatever, I let it go. Anyway, welcome home... I look forward to some posts, and pics!
Hey so glad you are back and back into another Fit. TW Fit has so much potential. I have seriously thought about buying one after my Fit is paid off next year and make it my show car. Full Mugen everything, CF hood and nice black rims, lowered of course! Can't wait to see if you have anything planned.

Whatever, I let it go.But, if you look around enough... you'll see in a couple of threads where there's no direct mention of the other chassis, somebody will come in and try to start a "flame war" regarding the two.
Thanks everyone its much appreciated!
Annunc8: you'll have to add the gti to the 'significantly faster' camp, especially since my tw is a/t, and my gti was a dsg, which made it a low six second car.
the fit imo is more fun to drive than the gti, at least the mkv. Its a heavy car and not as tossable. But boy did it have guts. And the engine/exhaust note? Best in class period.
But little things like steering feedback, body roll control, willingness to rotate...they all add up to a more involving, if less refined, vehicle.
As far as the gd is concerned, its a great little car, and more 'modable; than the ge8 in a lot of regards, but (and I lived with a gd for 3 years), the ge feels more like a 'real' car, and improves upon the previous version in virtually everyway imo.
You could argue looks, but those are subjective. Personally, I prefer the ge8, and that was the case even when I was still a gd owner. Any questions you have, lemme know, ill be fair
