That sucks man! Hopefully your insurance will cover the repairs. Make sure they take the inside part of the door off to clean all the glass that might have fallen in between the door.
As mentioned before, if nothing was taken and the front windshield was smashed than it was more than likely just vandalism.
GL with the fix!

Sorry to hear about the break-in....... it sucks big time.. hope your your insurance deductable is not huge to lessen the impact to your wallet
I am trying to figure out why they target your FIT. Do you use a radar detector or GPS perhaps leaving suction cups marks on the windshield?

Dont bother using insurance or the shops they recommend. Your better off finding a 3rd party shop who will do it for bupkis.
From my experiences, the dealer charges 3x the rate, the insurance wants a hefty deductible thats more costly than the actual repair, and there referral is usually useless and not all that affordable.
needless to say, 350 is not a bad price. I hope youre car didn't suffer an damage to the window regulator. Heavy, blunt impact can snap the plastics parts used on it...

They only waive the deductible if you ended up getting that particular coverage ($0 glass deductible). I usually recommend it to my clients while having it for my own car, as it really doesn't add that much. I know that out of my companies, Safeco and Progressive offer it (though I'm sure others do as well, I just can't think of the others at this very second). But as a side note, I believe Safeco's is called "safety glass," and on top of windows, I remember reading in their product guide that it includes headlights and taillights.
It was definitely attempted theft. I'm in a high theft area (philly). As for the stolen items, I didn't have much in the car, except for a phone charger that was taken.
I thought windshields were only fixed if there was a crack small enough for safelite, cause it would be cheaper for them to fix the crack then to replace the entire windshield if it was to expand? Oh well, I fixed it the same day.
