I'm about to buy a Fit, may end up buying a new Sport/Manual from a local dealer. BUT....if the 2012 is going to show up in the next few weeks I may wait, anyone heard when they'll start trickling in or should I just buy the 2011 and be done.

 

Like every year before, it will probably be around late Sep. and Oct.

 

yah, as posted above new models aren't released until after august usually. depending on how popular the car is, dealers wont have stock until late Fall... and knowing that honda is struggling to get parts from their suppychain (due to the tragedy in japan back in March with the tsunami and all) you can almost bet the 2012 will take some time to accumulate here.

 

The 2010 and 2011's didn't really hit the lots where you could buy them until late November early December...

 

Good deal, if I buy a fit I won't wait for the 2012, I just didn't want to buy a new one and then 15 days later the 12's show up with a 6 speed and 240hp for $1k lower price

 

talk about torque steer at 240hp.

 

If anything, buy until the 2012 hits the lot so you can really haggle for the OTD price and get the best APR.

 

havent been shopping for a new Fit so dont know for sure, but i dont think the 11's are going to last that long till i overlaps the 12's...?

 

havent been able to find much on the release date but they made some neat little changes that were just released... i'm waiting.. especially if they improved the inside noise... I'm praying for September please.

I'm in the same shoes. I've been wanting to buy a Fit since May ... right as supply erased to nearly zero. They just don't stock ANY of 'em in Manual Transmission in my city. Especially the base model, which is all I need.

I don't think there will be any Fits to "clear out." I'm just hoping Honda starts cranking out plenty of 2012s.

You are right. My honda dealer(again) told me that the lack of 2011 was caused by the Japan tsunami since Fit's are produces there and not in north america as for the Civic.
