$3.65 Gas Prices

Was lamenting the 39.96 fill-up, but then on the drive in, the onboard computer says I'm getting 41.6 mpg, so it's hard to stay annoyed with that kind of gas mileage. (God, I hope it's not lying to me)

Yeah but with our humidity, the AC in my house is killing me, it's supposed to get up to 102 degrees on Thursday (where am I, Death Valley?)and NOW my stupid condensation pump has broken on my furnace. Without it, I can't run the AC. Help me, I'm suffocating. Someone call HVAC!!

Figure it out manually and you'll find out if it is lying to you.

miles divided by gallons = miles per gallon
fill the car up all the way, reset tripmeter, drive till empty, fill up at the same gas station and pump and note the amount of gas you put in.

tripmeter miles divided by gallons of fuel bought = mpg

average over three or more tanks for realistic range.

you can also use a free service like fuelly to track your mileage and fillups.

yah, do that 3 times and take the average. you will get your driving style's mpg.

but $35-40 fillups is pretty cheap these days imho.
