How much

Does an oil change cost at the dealership?
I guess I should get Mobil-1, so how much should I expect to pay?
Thanks!

Walmart has Mobil 1 in a 5 quart jug for $22.xx. I would recommend a Napa Gold oil filter. Honda's filters are now FRAM! Personally when I get my FIT, I plan on using Penzoil Platinum 5-20W with a Napa Gold filter. Some people have said that Mobile 1 runs really rough.

After the change, run it for another 5,000 miles, before the next oil change. Then I would recommend doing changes every 7,500 miles from thereon. If you really care about your engine, there are people out there who do UOA (used oil a.nalysis) to see what elements are shedding from their engine into to oil or if there is any sludging or radiator coolant leaking into the oil (causes sludge).

I'm not sure how many miles you have on your car or how many miles you have before your due change, but I would recommend checking your dipstick to see where your oil level is at, then before the oil change, check again to see how much oil your engine has consumed per so many miles. This is normal until your ring seals break in properly. If you still find that you are consuming oil once those seals have broken in, then there may be something wrong with the rings seals thats not keeping oil out. For newer cars I doubt it will, but it could also be that your engine is running too hot and is boiling over the oil. This usually calls for thicker oil for better heat resistance. In any event, stick with 5-20W until your warranty expires. After that, you can use whatever oil weight that your engine adapts best with.
