all these mileage posts and octane(psi)
sorry but this past weekend did a 600 mile trip stopped at about 180 miles on od ran cruise control most of the trip she wasn't even at halfway on gas, factory psi in tires and i'm due to change my air filter soon and i was driving in alot of uphill and steep inclines in cruise and i usually get 40,000 mls on 30,000 ml tires and there still not worn down when changed and i drive in nyc in brooklyn so sorry guys i go by proof and factory settings are working pretty good, and i do this trip once a month to see my kids not knocking anyone just saying settings are reasons from the factory there set for maximum efficiency on all parts including the suspension

Your Fit is good out of the factory, but realize that there are things you can do to maximize this economy.
How many miles on your Fit?? What year, model?? What's your fuel economy?
Look around the forum with an open mind and you'll be sure to pick up on a few pointers.
Most of all - enjoy the ride.

I've traveled the city, it's tough enough let alone worry about mpg's. 30yrs ago heading into Manhattan early on a Sunday was fun, friends had a loft on the lower west side. We used to think it was bad then - HA! Today it's crazy.
There's a few City Fits on board, your mileage looks on par, though 40mpg... cruising The Henry Hudson @ 3AM maybe ;-)
What's the oil change interval? Your Fit would be a great example of the MM 'knowing' serious stop and go driving. Is yours auto or manual tranny.

Hey Craig, fun and mpg doesn't always go hand in hand but the Fit comes close! Enjoy!

Back then it was either my '69 Alfa or a '74 Audi Fox. MPG was not really part of the equation. The Audi taught me a solid lesson on timing belts.... haven't owned a German car since, though a local guy has a nice '67 Beetle sitting by the road.
