does the honda fit HAVE a governor?

that is what a governer does, with some differences depending on the make, model, and year of the car.
but like i said before, you quoted text about the rev limiter, which limits engine speed as to prevent damage to the engine. not a governer
Not directly related to this thread but... This has been posted before, it's a good read for anybody interested, I personally use this method, it works. As for hitting 110 in a Fit, well to each his own heh.

Governer = Speed Limiter
Rev Limiter = RPM Limiter
The two have similar yet very different functions, I can see how someone could pretty easily confuse the two.

Governor (device)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A governor is a device used to measure and regulate the speed of a machine, such as an engine. A classic example is the centrifugal governor, also known as the Watt or fly-ball governor, which uses weights mounted on spring-loaded arms to determine how fast a shaft is spinning, and then uses proportional control to regulate the shaft speed.
Automobiles are a common application, and modern automobiles are equipped with such a mechanism for various reasons. There are two types of automobile governors, one limiting the rotational speed of the engine, the other limiting the speed of the vehicle. In small, low power applications, governors are used to protect the engine from damage due to excessive rotational speed, or pushing the engine past its peak abilities. In larger, higher performance engines governors are used to limit the vehicle speed. Many performance cars are limited to a speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) to limit insurance costs and/or to reduce pollution.

2. How much did you drop your Fit. It looks sick.
3. How's the ride since the drop? What springs/shocks did you use.
Sorry, I guess that was really four questions.

and the drop LOL thats photoshop...i want to drop it with the TANABE DF210 springs for now and later go to coilovers when there are more companies that offer them

ok here is a shot of one spot...good place to go fishing and do some top speed runs( for low top speed runs)...this road leads to an abandoned army base...its about 5 miles long and in florida city...IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE so if you love animals the only thing i can kill out here are alligators crossing the street...please for the last time dont bash me like i asked and see that the only person in danger is MYSELF
I imagine hitting an alligator would be one helluva speed bump! Thanks for the response. I can't wait to get my bike back to the states to see what it can do. Right now it is speed governed to 180kph (112mph), but once I put the little adapter gizmo on that gears the speedometer cable down to mph, that won't be an issue. It's still only a 400, so I'm sure it won't hit anything too insane, but it's more fun going fast on a slow bike, than slow on a fast one.
Virginia International Raceway should be seeing a lot of me next year.

no prob jack...thank you for not bashing me for the speeding...the flic tells it all and the topic on this thread was the govenor questioning...i was only sharing my input on the cars capabilties...hopefully i will soon have the car hooked up with some mods though...money is tight right now
Ok so it a fact the fit has a governor that limit the speed @ 110 mph..maybe a littile more if you going down hill
it is also a fact that the fit has a black box... that records how you drive!
The question then is how much information is record on the black box?
Can the black box hold two weeks of informtion or 3 hours?
if am in a car crash will the cops look at what i did two weeks ago and give me a ticket?
I dont understand how it can be illegal to take out the black box.
I do have a right to modify my car....... will i think so.
whats next gps system in every car.

Am guessing they are going to use the black box in the fit for this car crash.

The black box info will be used to help with the insurance company's and police dept.'s accident investigation if it's a MAJOR ACCIDENT involving SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURIES OR DEATH.

Has all the data you need to know. It only records 5 seconds before the airbags deploy.

I know that there are the electronic limiters ( I experienced in my old sentra B13 non SE-R), but I wasn't expecting this in the Fit. I expect to just run out of breath (by power or drag). But then at 118MPH more or less but was more than 115mph I had the cut off. What I can't tell was the RPM's because honestly I wasn't looking after I shift to 5th
Interesting, not?
Any comments /knowledge.....

At first the car was like really slow and non peppy, but after the break-in and most after the first oil change (mobil-1), It runs great. You just notice the lack of power if there is a really fast car and you could not hold with, but in passing manuvers I don't see any problems.
The point of my comment is that if that happens on stock, when you, or myself make the Fit more powerfull, then will have the limiter hitting on us more frecuently.
