You know this would be awesome.
K23, turbo motor from the acura RDX. its awd only, and due to some major differences, is incompatible with other kseries trans. Also, vtec on intake only (but its turbo so.. who cares). To my knowledge, no one has swapped this into anything, mostly for the awd/tranny problem.
I think the fit would be the best chance for a swap though. Its the only Honda sport/compact car that comes with an awd variant. Say you managed to couple the awd fit's driveshaft/axles to the k23 and its transmission? Obviously, this wouldnt exactly be a bolt in affair. Im sure a fair amount of fabrication would be needed. And it might be slightly expensive, especially for someone outside of Japan to do.
But just imagine... 240hp/260ftlb (with no modifications) in an awd Fit.
IMAGINE IT.
Now, tell me Im a dreaming fool and itll never happen. But, you know you like the idea

They were building AWD Fits and selling them in Japan when I bought mine.. I don't know if that option still exist for the GE Fits.... I think you may have to sit the engine and drive train down very low in order to run the drive shaft, and a whole bunch of other changes as well... If a car as small as a Fit was to come from the factory like that it would be an amazing car to drive.

As cool as that might be, it's highly unrealistic. With that kind of engine and AWD, it's mpg is going to suffer. There's little reason for a Fit to have AWD (or even a turbo) anyway.
Best bet is a factory K20 Fit.

^^^wagon attack 2 runs a d16z6. not a k series but is still a great video. its the reason i bought my wagon.
the cool factor would be way up but your wallet would not be so happy, also the rdx only came with an automatic transmission so that would take out some of the fun.
what about looking into running the honda element k24a4 with a k20a2 head?
the trans from those had a 5 speed. I just dont know if the transfer case sits in the same position as the rear driveline coming from the rear differential?

Lol Does anyone give a crap about MPG's anymore if they are putting a Turbo'd k23 in their car? If you are going through that much trouble you obviously don't give a flying flip about MPG's anymore.
I know, I just feel like an AWD Fit would be the modern incarnation of that.
Then IMAGINE someone driving it double nickel on the freeway and coasting in neutral downhill and intersections, tires inflated @40-45psi on highest mileage rated tires... coz I care about my mpg...
Nudge! Nudge! Wake up!!! Agh, bad dream.... "Poof" goes the bubble.
Well, a Fit with AWD, a turbo and mediocre gas mileage from the factory is pointless. You might as well just get a WRX wagon then, probably for less money and greater performance capability.
But honda would never make this from the factory. Besides, the person that bought/made this vehicle wouldn't give a shit about mpg's at all. He'd care about having a totally sleeper fit that would literally make other cars shit their doors off.
And in that case, anything goes, really. But it would still be a big waste of money, unless the guy is just that loaded. It would still be interesting.
WRX = Greater performance capability?
Is this before or after you go through >9000 glass transmissions and blow a headgasket a day?
And you have to deal with the worst sound in the internal combustion world.

Well the glass transmissions is only really a problem for a small span of years. Even then that comes down to the driver. But we do agree on the broken note of the unequal length exhaust manifold.
It just sounds... wrong. Almost like a cylinder is missing or the timing for one is off.

I've heard a few with equal length headers installed... much smoother.
The note is nice, especially through a 3" steel tube.

The rhythm is what drives my OCD nuts.

Even then, still doesn't sound right to me, I'm not sure why. I guess I'm too much of a fan of the classic inline 4 or inline 6.
