Talking New fit freak member

Hello everyone, my name is Ryan and I recently sold my miata and sv650 to pick up a new (used) 2008 Honda Fit sport in Blaze metallic Orange. It's a 5 speed with 60k miles in pristine condition.

I needed something a bit bigger, since I'm having a kid pretty soon, and the Honda Fit seemed like a perfect FIT. It's small, gets good gas mileage, and has plenty of room.

I plan on mainly keeping it stock, maybe some interior upgrades, and racing it in H-stock at my local SCCA events. I think my first mod will be a k&n drop in filter and maybe some seat covers!

I've owned about 4 Hondas before and am looking forward to getting back into the community. I'm definitely going to miss my miata though, probably will end up getting another one soon since its more adept at being an autocross car.

However, currently the fit meets all my needs for a fun daily driver .

I'm currently on the search for a some wheels (same dimensions as the 08 stock wheels),v710 r-compound tires, and a front sway bar! If anyone has those for sale lmk!

Just in case someone is selling a used Kraftwerks supercharger, shoot me a pm as well, maybe we can work something out!

Anyways, I look forward to being an active member on the forums, hope to meet/greet with some of the Texas constituents soon!

Thanks, I've actually not even picked my fit up yet! I had decided against it since it was kind of small, and started looking at wrxs., but after the 02 I was looking at fell through I decided to get the FIT anyways. If all goes well, I'll be parking her in my driveway this evening!

Good luck with the purchase. We have been amazed at how much fits in the Fit. That first year was rough with the rear facing child seat. They take up a ton of room and make the passenger seat uncomfortable in almost any car. The Fit is no exception, but you have to get up to crew cab trucks, mini vans, and full size domestics before that isn't a problem. Chances are your wife, like mine, will want to sit in the back with the baby anyway.

My son is now 15 months old and loves the Fit. He says "weeee" as we take turns. I'm sure it won't work for H stock, but the Progress rear bar is more needed than a front bar in my opinion because the car already understeers from the factory. Honda added a rear sway bar as standard equipment in 2009 Sports so obviously they also fealt the car needed one.

I'm glad that I made the purchase, it's been a blast to drive so far and it was super easy to teach my wife to drive stick! I was planning on keeping it stock and modifying a "weekend" car ( mainly looking to build an ls1 rx7 or miata), but I decided to get rid of the notchy, boat like shifter and ordered the hfit short shift kit! I'm also in the process of purchasing a progress rear sway bar to eliminate some of the understeer!

Glad to hear it's going well. I'll be interested to see what you think of the HFit shifter. We have the Mugen shifter and love it.
