Exclamation Cat needs our HELP!

Has this happened to anyone here and what did you do?
Cat as most everyone knows as a long time FitFreak'r has purchased a new computer and now "our fourm" will not let her log on.
I know we have some computer experts that know what the deal is here so please respond to this and lets get our Cat back on the fourm!!
Thanks
Big Mike

Need to know more details like what she has tried, if she can even view the website, etc.

See if she can log in from another computer first. She may want to try resetting her password or try another browser like Firefox.

Definitely need more details from Cat if possible Big Mike.

(1) Can she surf the internet at all?
(2) Can she get to FitFreak home page?
(3) What browser is she using?
(4) What does the error say when she tries to login?
(5) Can she login to any of her other accounts i.e. FB, email, etc...

These would help...

If it's a log-in error, request new password. I'm always forgetting mine... not so much on 'our forum' but quite a few others, arghh!

LOL-- I have created an excel spread sheet which lists domain, login and any passwords needed. It now has 177 line items... I hate the sites where they make you change your password every 30- 90 days.

Hey Sooznd, there are plug-ins and features on some browsers like Firefox where you can manage/keep track of your passwords, essentially doing what you are doing now. Just thought I'd mention it...

The change password routines are SOP for privacy protection, etc... Actually a good practice but hard to keep up with... kinda like the MM on the Fit... light comes on when it's time... but easier to pay attention to the MM than changing passwords... all relative...

Hey sooz - clear the list and send me a copy of that! I just went crazy with a new bank, Verizon, PayPal, a slew of others and a ton of slips of paper.

edit: subie - firefox doesn't hold ALL the passwords. A real secure site will not allow that

Mike - I still can't get on the forum to post or respond. I have sent 3 e-mails to the contact person .Here is what I am getting if I try to post or start a new thread: Cat, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I don't know what else to do and this is not right to kick me off the forum when next month will be my 5 year anniversary of being a Fit Freak I am going to look over my profile again to see if something on that is not checked - otherwise I don't know what to do. Can you post a new thread and ask a moderator to look into it for me?

Thanks,
Cat

KC, it's not Firefox. Its an add-on app (plug-in) utility that's compatible with Firefox, IE, etc. called LastPass Password Manager.

I don't think Cat's been kicked out... for no reason... I looked through my profile/detail/option areas but couldn't see anything that would lock me out accidentally.

Maybe each one of us can touch bases with the moderators for her... See who answers first. I left a message with Sid.

Firefox won't hold all passwords- depending on the website--but if you go under "Tools, options, passwords, save passwords, show passwords" you can see some of the ones that are saved.

It's not a Firefox function sooznd. It's an add-on app that works with Firefox. Click on the link on my previous post.

Good Idea Let's all get in touch with a moderater and see what they can do for her. Cat is an Icon around this forum and I would feel really awful if we did not try to help her out as much as we can. Thanks Everyone on her behalf, she PM'd me tonight and she's feeling bad about this whole thing of being apart from FF's. So the person that gets her back on is FF's Peron of the Year!! If you have some questions you want to ask her she did send me her new E-mail address
Thanks Everyone,
Mike
