2011 Base 5MT. Bought it late april of 2011. So a tad over 9 months and 18,000 miles, I pop the cover over the grill off to take some measurements of the bumper and find that the metal bumper is rusting along all the seams? Is this reasonable for a car this new or is it something I should be conserned about? All my previous cars have been 8+ years old when I got them, so I never thoght any of a bit of rust.

hard to say. my GE has considerable surface rust like that. if it bothers you get some rustolieum paint (bites into rust and stops it) and touch it up.

in fact i will be doing the same on my dd after winter to touch on areas that were chipped and rusting. salt in winter can be harsh on metals.

 

there is a rust warranty on the car, but I'm pretty sure its only if something rusts completely through.
