The last time I was in town I noticed that premium was up to $4.09... That was about 5 days ago.. I really can't afford to fill up with regular fuel even if my Fit didn't need the octane.. The premium fuel doesn't go bad from sitting in the tank for a long time as quickly as regular... My car sometimes isn't fueled up for over a month and our old GMC pickup that see very little use these days has gone over a year without being driven. It hardly ran when it was finally driven but a can of Sea Foam worked wonders.. I have been using a home brewed concoction that I add to the tanks of the Fit and Pickup if they have been sitting long or will be sitting for awhile and not driven...

It's possible that gas prices could have gotten that high here...The last time I filled up premium was $387.9...When you realize that your tax dollars are being used to subsidize the use of ethanol and driving up the price of bourbon it makes you want to drive less and drink more bourbon....It's as good a reason as any I guess....

Just filled up at $4.22 in Berkeley with regular. I had been using the mid grade Chevron 89 octane but due to the high prices the last 2 tanks I used 87 octane and my mileage is actually slightly better. Possibly due to the engine continuing to break in.

So I'll be sticking with the regular until I feel a real need to go with a higher octane.

4.19 in East Bay i've been paying for Regular Shell or Mobil. Been using regular for 30k miles and getting high 30's consistantly. I work in South Bay but never fill up there, prices are ridiculous (like +.20/gal from everywhere else).

As a side note, that gas station off the 80 at Magazine is stupid cheap almost all the time. The station is huge though so maybe they're offsetting price with quantity. Good place to stop going out of town if you don't mind all the scrapers at the pumps.

Anyone that drives on the highway generally gets better fuel mileage with 87 octane gasoline... Around town in situations where you are coming to complete stops and accelerating back up to speed is when 92 octane shines, unless the source of octane is ethanol.

The great thing about these cars are when you put 10 bucks at 4.15 now a gallon from a 1/4 you get to half a tank or a little over can't say that for most cars though.

Yea, that still is putting a smile on my face when I fill up and it comes to around $30. My old BMW had a 22 gal. tank which still gave me less miles per tank than the Fits.

Had 275 mi.on the Fit trip odometer this last fill up

$4.439 Shell premium for my Rex today. But hey, waste of gas is when you're no longer having fun driving...

I paid 4.32 for Shell V-power RFG, that came down 40 cents of a few weeks ago. Regular by my work is 4.49 and even more in Chicago.

Imagine how much worse you'd feel if you had bought a Goldwing thinking you'd have fun and save money... You'd consume fuel at about the same rate as with a Fit but go broke replacing tires...

I pay 9.00/gallon for my Racing Kart fuel. By the time you add 2-stroke oil it's $15.50/gallon.

back when i raced motocross my Elf Racing fuel was $14 a gallon, this was 5 years ago now. I've since retired (raced for 18 years but i'm only 26) so i don't have to worry about $100 a weekend for a few gallons of fuel.
