New Fit Owner
New Fit Owner - No More STi
I didn't see an introductions forum, so I'll post here.
After shopping around from a WIDE range of cars like a 1966 Mustang, to the new Fiat 500 Sport, I decided the best option for myself and my situation was a 2009 Fit Automatic with 33k miles.
I'm coming from the built Subaru STi scene, so I'm not expecting anything but great gas mileage and reliability out of my Fit. But once the warranty is up it'll be a built stroker, Manley bits, and a quality turbo kit (j/k j/k).
As James May would say, this car is cheap and cheerful, and that's why I like it.

But, if you plan on heavily modifying, stay away from the WRX and go straight to the STi. Even at that point you might as well just get an Evo. Evos respond better to mods, and the stock block can handle 500whp fairly reliably. Subaru motors are not reliable above 400whp on pump gas. E85 will give you a margin of safety on the Subaru EJ257.
if all you want out of a wrx is 300whp, you should be ok. Just remember the wrx transmission is nowhere near as beefy as the STi
I definitely don't want to "heavily modify" my wrx.
It'll probably be---suspension, wheels, some body goodies, exhaust and that's about it. Haha!
I'm hoping to keep the fit, have the step-son drive it and pick me up a wrx. My commute is only 10 miles a day so the mileage isn't as big a concern and if need be, we could always use the fit.

Use Shell Rotella 15w-40, and Purolator Gold 14612 filter and it will last forever.
Thanks. The blue reminds me of Subaru World Rally Blue (WRB)
For reference, here is what I was used to, as far as horse power.
