taking my car in for the first tranny service at 57k but my serpentine belt I am unsure about. Checked the belt yesterday there were no visual cracks and she felt smooth as i ran finger up and down the inside and outside. Belt just has a little brownish tint to it but they are doing alot of construction by my house am i just being paranoid? I'm taking a 600 mile trip next weekend and i want no problems

 

If you inspect the belt and it's fine, then it's fine. Don't worry about it haha.

57k miles isn't a lot.

 

Yeah they wanted 159 for it but it looks accessible evenif it did need changing so why so expensive

 

yeah, I wouldn't replace the belt
