2 Questions about the Fit
can someone here tell me more about the Honda Fit's Electric Power-Assisted Rack-and-Pinion Steering (EPS), is it a separate electric motor that powers the pump or is it a fancy name for something? and in the M/T models is it a cable shift linkage like the RSX's or is it the rod system like the older style civics? thanks guys!
The NSX featured EPS in 1990. The system has been significantly reduced in size over the years.
The article from 1997 provides some background on Hondas system.

EPS featured on the Insight and many other Honda models worldwide.

You may want to download the Jazz technical manual to answer your linkage and other questions.
And for your vtec question http://asia.vtec.net/Series/FitJazz/lseries/index.html
And yes 3,500rpm but carefully note the specific implimentation of vtec described. It ain't no i-vetc.

thanks VIVIDJAZZ i researched about it before and thats exactly how i thought the EPS system worked i just wanted to clear it up. and as for the vtec question i read that it kicks in at 3500 rpm so it seemed a little different than other vtec designs in the past where it engages at around 5600+ rpm. i guess older style and the i-vtec in K series motors are for fuel economy and power but the vtec in the L15 is only for fuel economy not so much power. i just wanted to get it straight. thanks again!
