New here... just showing off my FIT

I've been lurking here for a while. You guys have helped me every time I've had to make a decision regarding my Honda Fit.

I recently had a child and as the baby got older I realized that I needed more and more stuff each time we had a family outing. I toyed with the idea of upgrading to a bigger car. Then I realized that I didn't need a new car... I just need a little more space!

I just bought the Thule Atlantis 1600 Rooftop Cargo Box along with the Thule roof rack system and it is very nice. I've been getting random comments from friends like "Is that a torpedo in your car?" or "Why do you have a little boat on top of your car?" I don't care... I think it looks cool.

That's a nice looking roof system. What reduction in gas mileage does it create? The minor mpg loss is probably acceptable if it solves your space problem. If your driving is mainly in the city, maybe your mpg is not affected at all.

Looks pretty cool. Here's another idea. Paint it to match the fit body color. Or to look extra cool, Do the roof and front hood in black and match the cargo box in black too. If I could photoshop I'd do it up for you.

If you used Plastidip, you could always peel off the whole thing if you didn't like it.

Thanks everyone!

I've only had it for about a week so I haven't really noticed any major changes in my MPG. I did take off the cargo box and noticed some wind noise from the roof rack itself but nothing too loud.
For a while I did think about painting the roof and the top of the hood black, but never really went through with it.

You shouldn't see MAJOR changes in mpg unless you do a lot of high speed driving. At 70mph+, you'll probably face 10% hit or so.

Looks so cool! Now you can separate small things that trampled inside the car every time it will shaken on the road. Nice to carry on picnics and strolling with family.
