Color!

So I know that this should be the easiest decision to make when buying a car, but I am having some serious issues deciding on a color. I'm buying a new 2013 Fit base model this weekend, and just can't figure out which one to get. I don't want the sport model, but, unfortunately, I do want that plum color This will be my first new car purchase, so in the past, I just took whatever color the used car I found happened to be. This is an entirely new decision for me.

So I have it narrowed down to white, grey, or blue raspberry... And I haven't entirely ruled out black... I'm not a huge fan of the other colors. I like the white because it looks so clean and classic, the grey because it's nice and neutral, and the turquoise because it's so bright and quirky (sort of like me ) But which one would I be happiest with long-term? Which won't fade out, show scratches, etc.?

Any help in making this should be simple decision a little bit easier for me would be appreciated! Do you love your color? Wish you would have gotten a different color?

Also, feel free to throw some reasons why you love your Fit to make me feel good about signing away a pretty big chunk of my paycheck on one! (I haven't had a car payment for such a long time!)

Polished metallic gray is nice. I havr alabaster silver metallic and it looks clean even when its dirty. White was my 1st choice. They didnt have it at my dealer though.

not sure why you'd not want the sport. just spend the little extra and get wat you want, including the color.

sport is the way to go if you can afford that little extra cause it finishes up the car real nice imo.

I have black and like it very much, but it does show up the dirt very easily. However, if you don't mind washing the car at least once a week, the black is a very nice color. In the sunlight you can see little blue metallic specs beneath the surface.

Fit's paint sucks bad. All of them. If you want to avoid scratches showing I suggest white or silver.

I have black and I hate keeping it clean, it shows scratches like they're magnified 100x (you will get a lot of them unless you're meticulous about your paint, waxing, etc, I am not). I couldn't drive any other color Fit though, so black it is and black I will stick with.

Thanks for the answers! I think I might be leaning towards white. I'm not going for the sport for a few reasons. The only reason I really want one is the color, which is just silly, and there were a few things that I've heard that have turned me off - but maybe those weren't entirely correct. Does anyone with a sport live in a snowy, hilly area? I am in Pittsburgh, and the winters here generally suck. The dealer actually told me to go for the base because of this. He said the low profile tires are awful in the snow, and the car scrapes on roads when they aren't well plowed because it's lower. He also said that potholes are pretty bad with those tires, and pgh is FULL of potholes. The interior was another concern of mine, because it just comes in black. I have a dog and heard it's next to impossible to keep the black interior looking nice. Any positive experience with these things?

The salesman is a dunce.

The OEM Sport tires are not low profile. The ride is not bad, the car won't scrape everywhere, etc.

He probably drives a Pilot/CRV because he thinks he needs it in the winter. Ignore every word that comes from his mouth.

I don't have any problems in a sport model, even being lowered an inch in illinois winter.

The only reason the dealer encourage you to buy the Base model must be because they had more base model inventory to clear as compare to the sport model,
or Honda of North America had more base model inventory thus giving dealer incentive to sell the base more than the sport

Id go sport. I love the lip kit and rear wing. I got mine in Plum and so glad i did. The color IMO is fantastic. How its purple during day, looks burgundy in shade and black at night. the oem alloys go great with the car and ive always been an aftermarket nut when it comes to cosmetics. Like the black (my older bro has a black ge8) it shows scratches and swirl marks. If i couldve stopped the dealer ship from doing their first wash i would've. Either way, im sure you'll love the Fit regardless of color.

I drive a GD sport in Montreal and they don't do a good job of clearing the streets and there are more potholes in my city than in Afghanistan. I get by just fine in the winter. I hear stuff crunching and scraping under the car all the time, but this has nothing to do with the body kit since the ride height is the same with the sport and base. Even occasionally plowing through some ice hasn't harmed the body kit.

If you have a dog, I strongly recommend you get clazzio seat covers. They look cool and are easy to clean.

I have a white pickup and had a white Honda CRX. It really is an easy color to take care of (or not take care of and not have it show).

I recently had a car with 185 tires and I got the base model with 175 because I prefer a thinner tire all year round. The 185s I had on my previous car were fine going forward on snow but when backing up the rear tires would float off to the side. My cars before the last one had thinner tires and worked better in snow backwards or forwards.

The first few years I lived here I drove that CRX on the unplowed driveway (just over an eighth of a mile) all winter for a couple winters. Now I shovel the driveway but that's a fair bit of work some storms. If you live with plowed streets you may not have trouble with 185 tires.

I could have ordered a white Fit, but I like the dark blue and it was there on the lot.

The colours I like for the Fit would have to be:

1. The orange
2. The blue
3. The white looks great on the '13
4. The red.

completely agree. your salesman is an idiot, or trying to trick you op. i have 2 sports, no issue in snow. i do recommend getting either snow tires or at least Continental DWS tires if driving in snow.

My Fit is red but if I was going with the base model myself I like the white for some reason it looks more upscale to me. But color is such a personal preference, good luck with ever you chose.

Grey is a great color cuz it does not show up dirty as much. The white is an awesome color - always clean and classic. Yup I love my Milano Red Fit but have to work to keep it looking good. Fit paint is terrible for swirling. I am on the 2nd day of a detailing job getting my car ready for a car show in the morning. Lots of work especially as it is a DD

so, last year i started looking for a honda fit. I was set on getting the blue fit, but i would settled for red, white, or even black. i searched online, localy and had the idea that dealer was out of reach. driving to and from work, there was a tidewatter fit that sat in a mazda dealer lot for months, the cars around it changed but it sat in its parking spot with its head held high. after that few months i skimmed threw craigs list and saw a post, "blue honda fit! price is bla bla, come pick it up today!" so i emailed. the guy seamed happy and eager to sell it. i told him the miles where high for a '10 and i was not interested in the color, he told me to come in so i did. not the best idea to roll into a dealer with a '91 accord. it was fresh but i only had stealies. well after dropping the price twice I finaly rolled out with the fit. mud flaps, exhaust, tints and a thule rack later? i'de say that the color dose not matter any more.
