New guy from WI

Hey all new guy! sorry if there is a certain area for intros i didnt find it so direct me differently if i simply missed it! Dont have a fit yet but should be buying one within the week im going to look at two and i will get one of them so long as financing goes through.
looking at a 2008 Fit Sport manual and a 2010 fit sport manual both with about 70k miles on them. I currently drive a 99 civic with 183k miles so quite the upgrade! Im happy a found a good forum online for the fit and look forward to learning as much as i can about Fits!

Welcome!

Can't wait til you get your Fit, I'd go with the GE personally even though I have a GD, just for the sake of it being newer AND if the price is right. I love both Fits!

Congrats on the Fit. Now it's time to get modding. There are tons of great aftermarket modifications available, especially for that generation Fit.

-I really like the Js racing style grills
-Carbon fiber dress up under the hood
trying to keep it simple for now as its my first NICE car so i just want to mainly personalize it for rite now.

Another good bang for the buck mod you might want to look at is adding a Progress rear sway bar. I've heard that it makes a big difference in handling and have plans to add one to my 2012 Sport.

Thanks! i am interested in improving handling even though the stock handling is IMPRESSIVE. but i dont want to lower the car if i dont have to being as it will be my DD and i live in WI (snow clearance) and its great in the snow rite now. Where on here can i go to learn more about the L15 and how its designed?

Nice choice in generation :P. I can say the progress rear swap bar is always a good addition for handling. I live in MN and had my car pretty damn low. The car did pretty well with snow tires on, though it did struggle at times. If you do want to or end up lowering it a bit you really shouldn't have much for an issue.

Ok thanks for the info man. If i did decide to lower it would be after a little bigger set of wheels and prob only like .75"
also, after looking under my hood it doesnt appear to me that a front strut tower bar is really possible, or is it?

A front strut bar is possible, if it provides any kind of gains in handling is debatable. J's, Spoon and Mugen are just three companys off the top of my head that make front strut bars

Update to HID headlights, JDM LED brake lights, and all the interior lights (dome, reading, storage) to LED and of course TINT. Thats the first thing we do in the south or we're reminded very fast when opening up an unventilated car on a warm day. It's fun bringing an older model up to current technology seen in more current cars. I'm a big JDM guy. Any part that'll work from the Jazz, I'd do.

Ask and you shall recieve. VTEC.net is my main go to for this info.
The Temple of VTEC - Honda and Acura Enthusiasts Online - Articles - Good overview: Page 1

heres VTEC.net's first drive of 08 FIT review.

Hope this helps bro. Congrats on getting that color. Doing any audio upgrades like a fold out deck with navigation, XM Radio, and bluetooth since most states are making this the only way to talk on the phone while driving legally?

Havnt put to much thought into stereo as my old 99 civic had a factory cd player (no freaking head room or volume) so im just enjoying have auxilary input and decent sound. but i would like to get an xm receiver eventually. The first thing i want is to get an exhaust. sounds stupid but its always kind of been a thing for me that i want to buy a real aftermarket name brand exhaust and i never have before lol
as far as lights go i looked at the LED third brake light and thats very appealing, interested in yellow fog lenses but havnt looked em up yet. i would really like some tint even though up north we usually never go higher that 95 degrees except for like 1 month a year. id also like some window visors a red rear honda emblem and the JDM fit badge with the red dot at the top. we will see what i can get my hands on in the next couple years

I just dont think its worth buying name brand for axle-back exhaust. Theres no power. If you want to hear anything, its the snarl after adding a good intake. Hearing vtec is music to my ears. If i were you id save a buck and buy a Megan Racing Exhaust. Good price and a mellow sound. The i want the loudest exhaust is so Fast & Furious 1.

Megan Racing bought the rights to produce the 1st gen Apex-i Exhausts.

MSRP 270.99

Just food for thought.

Thanks man i really appreciate the info on the megan exhaust i was looking at the hks hi power for about 350. i know an exhaust wont get you any power N/A and its nearly pointless. but ive always had intakes so iwant the whole package intake and exhaust. i just love the sound of a well tuned deep exhaust but if the megan is a cat back and not just an axle back for the sake of price i may just get that instead!

Here is vid of an 07 Fit w/ megan exhaust and a cai.

Dont forget also the n1 style exhaust like that hks could have a bad droan at highway speed.
