Down shift when in "D" will not upshit

Anyone experience this?
When in "D" mode and you downshift with paddle to pass it won't return to "D" or higher gear? I've had this experience twice. I try to ease up on throttle so the computer or throttle sense will allow it to upshift but it doesn't. It should shift on its own.

Yup,, I've been experiencing that. I think it might be timed?? Takes a while for it to get back into D mode. but I just up shift it myself since my hands are on the steering wheel..(if it doesn't shift on it's own)

usually if you lift completely off of the throttle, it'll upshift for you, but i usually downshift then stay in that gear until i overcome the hill

koolkevin what type of gas mileage are you getting with just the paddles? Have you checked? My last fill up I got 27 and it was mixed driving (manual and auto) in city.
