What you LIKE about your FIT???

I was not aware of that. I wonder if the GK does that too..........................I guess I'll find out next time it rains.

What do I like about the Fit? Well, I like it enough to have owned two of them (an '09 GE and now a '15 GK). There are too many reasons I like the car to list them all, but here are some things I really like:
1. Efficiency. Not just great fuel economy, but efficiency of space as well. The car is so small on the outside and so big on the inside. Easy to park, and easy to pack anything I need to carry. It's short enough that I have plenty of room to park both the Fit and the Harley in a single garage stall.
2. Fun to drive. I love to drive this car. Although it loads like a van, it drives more like a go-kart. Steering, brakes, clutch, the short-throw shifter all make driving the car a pleasure. I've always been more of a motorcycle guy than a car guy, but driving this car is a blast-the most fun I've ever had on four wheels.
3. I can get a stick shift without having to settle for the "economy" trim level.
4. I love the many upscale touches on the EX package. I'm now thoroughly spoiled by things like keyless entry/ignition, lane change and backup cameras, display audio system with TWO USB ports, power moon roof.
5. The "magic seats". Their many configurations mean that whatever I need to carry, it will "fit". I can't find another small car with this kind of flexibility. I can carry guitars and amps to a gig, or load up my road bicycle.
6. Styling. I actually LIKE the way the car looks. I like the styling all three generations, although for different reasons. The 3rd generation styling has taken a while to "grow" on me, but I've come to like it, too.
7. The car still comes with a spare tire, not a bottle of fix a flat and a compressor. You might not appreciate this until you slice a sidewall on a dark night and you're stuck.
8. The many clever touches that Honda engineered into the car. The rear wiper running when shifting into reverse has been mentioned. There's also what I call the "drive in movie feature", where the DRLs don't come on when starting the engine if the parking brake is on. I figure this is so you can start to car to run the heater/AC at the drive in without the DRLs annoying the other patrons.
These are just a few of the things I like about the Fit.

Well, excuse me all to hell. the Fit is the first car I've owned with a rear wiper. Most cars that aren't hatchbacks don't have rear wipers.

There's a lot of negative things you could nitpick about the car, but all cars are a series of tradeoffs. For me it hits a pretty magic sweet spot. It's affordable, my head doesn't bump into the ceiling (in any seat), decent MPG, reliable. But the piece de resistance is that it looks tiny from the outside but feels roomy on the inside, and with or without my Yakima roof rack mounted, holds a ton of stuff. I've long thought of it as a kind of economy Tardis, for the sci fi nerds out there. For a guy who hauls all different combinations of equipment and people, there's nothing out there that can do it all and stlll slide into a tiny NYC parking spot.
