removing stock shift knob question

I got my 2015 6MT Fit today. I was thinking about replacing the stock shift knob but when I attempted to remove it (mildly because I didn't want to break anything), it didn't budge at all. I thought it would just unscrew like all the others I had before. Am I missing something ? Can it be undone at all ? There is a small chrome ring underneath the knob itself and I wasn't sure if it's fixed to the knob or boot.

I've had a Momo Combat knob for as long as I can remember and I've always liked it a lot more than any stock knob and that's why I'm asking. Thanks.

I also want to know how to do this.

Edit: Pull down the silver bit then twist... it isn't loose at first.

It's not easy ! Initially, I just hold on to the silver ring and twisted the knob counter clockwise. All that did was twist the knob, silver ring and shift boot beneath it. After a few tries, I could feel the knob slowly loosening from the shaft. When I took it off, I understood why it was so difficult to get off. The knob has 2 plastic protrusions that kind of click inside the silver ring beneath it which solidifies the whole assembly but makes removal that more difficult.

Anyway, it's off now. I put on my aftermarket knob and everything seems to be fine.
