My car arrived in the US on September 25th, and the ETA was Saturday and I was all excited about this. Then I get an email saying the ETA is now next Thursday. Anyone else experience this? Why could this be?

the ETA is appox. so they are not really come in the exact time may be 2 days early may me few days late!! But anyway, congra. you got the car!!!

Which part of east coast that you from???

 

I'm in North Carolina. The dealer said it was currently in Indiana, which is not very far at all, since the original ETA was saturday, I still have hopes it may come in then, 2 days to get across 2-3 states isn't all that bad.

I was never given an exact ETA.
All they would say was "The middle of October"

So i'm guessing October 17-25?
If it comes in sooner, i'll be suprised.

Ordered September 15th.

Looking forward to it, but not dieing in the mean time.

They won't know an ETA until the car makes it into the United States? What part of NC are you in?

I was told by my dealer that with the recent introduction of the new CR-V's, that they had transportation proirity over other vehicles. Something about dealers were supposed to have their initial allocation of the new CR-V's by last weekend. He told me this in warning me that my Fit might be delayed. It got delivered yesterday, I'm guessing on a truck with a bunch of new CR-V's based on the number of them still wrapped up at the dealer.

 

heh, mine came in 2 weeks late. Consider your self lucky.

 

Drfoster - how many days before or after your ETA did yours come in?

 

He never really gave me an official ETA date, per se. On Monday, 9/25, he called and said it had its VIN assigned, that it was in the US and should be in Utah by the end of that week. On Friday, 9/29, I talked to him again and he said they hadn't received it yet and that's when he explained the issue with the CR-V's to me. He said he would keep me posted. On Wednesday, 10/4, I talked to him and he said it would be in the next day (yesterday), which it was. So, I guess we missed his original ETA of 9/29 by 6 days.

Note that my dealer is in Orem, Utah so that the car didn't have as far to get delivered as you easterners have.

 

I wish we could track our fits like UPS or something....

 

After MONTHS of searching (and many dealers just flat out telling me they can't help me get a Fit), I finally lucked out and found and purchased a Blue Sport AT last week (being shipped from Ohio). Dealer said it would be here Monday (today, 10/9), but then informed me Saturday that it had arrived in MA, but may not get to the dealer (also in MA) until 10/10 - 10/16. So we'll see...

 

ETA was Thursday, but my car has arrived! I pick it up at 1:00 tommorow afternoon!

 

Picked mine up today (2 days late) but psyched!!! Love it so far.

* FYI for people having a hard time finding a fit: The bigger the dealer, the more pull they have to get Fits in. You'll have a much better chance at finding a fit if you go to a larger chain Honda dealership.
