2008 Fit Sport - Faulting Gauges
I was wondering if someone could give me a hand. I have been troubleshooting one of those unexplained electrical issues.
When I run the self check test on the gauge cluster, the headlights, and fog lights indicators don't come on. Also instead of the needles making a smooth sweep from empty to full to empty...they flutter back and forth at about 1/3rd level for a few seconds, then make the smooth sweep to empty...full...empty.
My question is 2 fold.
Does the gauge self test on a 2008 Honda Fit Sport, include the headlight and fog light indicators? And if they do not come on, is that a sign of trouble on the cluster, or trouble in that circuit?
2ndly, are the fluttering needles further indication the cluster is shot? Or does that mean something else?
I am just trying to be very sure of my fix before I spend what appears to be big money, either dealer replacing, or replacing and buying the tools to reprogram one of these things.
