New to FitFreak
Just brought home our new Taffeta White Sport MT the other day. My wife and I didnt even plan to buy it, we were looking for an SUV actually. Went to the dealer to look for a newer pre-owned something and the salesman noticed I had a VW GTI and asked if we'd be interested in this honda they had. Some guy backed out of his deal and no one that came to look at it wanted a stick. Normally i wouldnt buy a car without knowing anything about it, but I used to have a CRX and i know alot about honda, just not the new FIT. My wife loved it so we bought it. When i got home i started researching, i couldnt believe how long people were waiting for these!! Crazy, we just waltzed into one. Sorry to all those that are waiting. Well anyway, we love ours, its great.
One quick question for now. This is my first car with a waranty and i was wondering what you can do without voiding it. I'd like to do the basic stuff; intake, exhaust, lowering springs, nothing crazy really. I know you can pretty much do anything as long as you can get it back to stock before you take it in, but what can you have done, and leave done?
This site is great, glad to see there is such a following already. I couldnt believe how many parts were already out for a brand new car. I'm sure it helped that the jazz has been out for some time now though. Looks like there is going to be plenty of aftermarket following

Sooo jealous but congrats on your fit. I am not exactly sure but I know that our Honda Dealer will blame any problem on anything changed. They are bitches like that but hopefully you will have better luck.

Typically you can do anything you want to upgrade your FIT but whatever you change will void the warranty for that one part unless your dealership can prove your upgraded damaged something else directly.
So if you upgrade your Exhaust and your transmission goes bad it is not from your upgraded exhaust.
Some mods are just bolt on like an intake, header or exhaust- those are easy. Some upgrades are cosmetic only so those are generally OK.
Watch out of audio/video upgrades that can affect the electrical wiring- it's a potential problem.
Most times you do not have to remove your mod before taking in your car for warranty work or servicing. Only exception to that would be if you added a tower strut bar that was blocking something else or a rear trunk subwoofer that was blocking access to something the dealer needed to get to. In those cases the dealership could charge for time to remove and reinstall your mods.
OMG..... I have to wait another 2 months for my white Sport M/T
Anyway congratz on your new Fit
As much as people mod their Honda in recent years, I wouldnt worry too much about simple stuff like intake, exhaust and suspension. Some dealer even offer those aftermarket upgrade, consult with your nearby dealers, you may be surprised.

alright cool, thanks for all the info. I told myself i wasnt going to mod it since technically its my wifes car, but i cant resist.
sorry for all those that have to wait, i dont think honda was prepared at all for the reaction here in the states, well obviously....

I ordered my Storm Silver Sport MT in May and finally got it in September. That was the longest 4 months of my life. I was a little disappointed with the accessories Honda had available for the Fit and then I stubbled onto this website and saw all the aftermarket stuff. That's what makes having a car fun, all the stuff you can add to it to make it your own look and feel. Can't wait to start modding mine.
I just placed an order for a VBP Sport Auto today. This is supposed to be my wife's car but I had so much fun in it, on our test drive today, that I might be stealing it for my commute to work.
I should be getting it by the end of the month. They had a silver one in stock but we wanted the blue and didn't mind the wait.
