I have a 2012 Honda Fit. I bought a cell phone holder for the dashboard, but the surface of the dash is textured and the suction won't stick and stay in place.
The cell phone mount I tried to use is this: http://a.co/d/8bpD6HV. I suppose this one was designed for a windshield and can only stick to smooth surfaces. But putting it on the windshield makes me lose visibility of the road.
Currently I am using a cell phone mount that goes on the air vent. It's just not the best place when I am using my GPS.
It looks like the previous owner had placed something that did work for this vehicle but I'm not sure what he did. (image attached)
Does anyone have any advice or product recommendations? Thank you in advanced.
I've used ProClipUSA in my cars with much success. Its cleaner, doesn't obstruct your view with stuff all over your windshield, and uses the AMPS mounting patterns so you pretty much use a multitude of phone mounts - including RAM Mounts.
hummm.. might cover up the HU quite a bit with your phone and dangling cable. have you checked out ProClip? the one that mounts to the a-pillar would be decent for maps, i suppose and get a powered cradle and hardwire it to your car.
